A Virtual Week in Canberra 2023- Walk and Talk Reconciliation (Stage 3, Stage 4)

On Demand

Join in the shared experience of reconciliation. Learn how key individuals campaigned with courage, perseverance, and dedication to achieve individual rights and freedoms for First Australians.

ACTIVITY OUTLINE:

Take a walk on Ngunnawal country and share a learning conversation with first Australian Gregory Andrews and Educator Kate Collins as they discuss some fascinating artworks along Reconciliation Place. A virtual tour and live panel discussion is a great way to introduce your students to the somewhat challenging topic of reconciliation.

Artworks include inspirational messages, dreaming stories and symbols. Messages are intended to teach and guide us in the future as well as ask important questions. The live panel discussion with Gregory and Kate is an opportunity to design and imagine artworks for the future as well as learn from our shared history.

You will need to view the session before midnight Friday September 22nd.
